Is the chalet ski in ski out?
La Rosière...
Our chalets in La Rosiere are located in a beautiful secluded wooded area about 5-10 minutes from the slopes. We operate a private chauffeur service to the slopes/ski school meeting points in the mornings and back to the chalets at the end of the afternoon (excluding weekends) as well as on the chalet hosts night off to your restaurant and there is a free village shuttle bus which stops very close to the chalets which runs every 15 mins. Guests have found that they have the advantage of being away from the main centre and in a quiet area when they want to chill out and if they fancy a night out, the main centre is only a 5-10 minute walk (uphill) and a very quick bum-board back! The distance from the slopes really is not an inconvenience, if anything the chalets are extremely well placed for the kind of peace and quiet you are looking for (with nightlife available when you want it)!
Sainte Foy...
Chalet Marigold is located approx. 20 metres from the slopes so is virtually ski in ski out. The ski lift is a short ski from there. We will accompany beginners to the ski school meeting point in our minibus.
Les Arcs...
Chalet Eagle´s Nest is located approx. 200m from the ´yogurt pot´ or ´lobster pot´ lift as it is known which takes you up to Plan Peisey and the Vanoise Express where you can choose to ski in Les Arcs or La Plagne for the day.
Meribel...
The chalet is located at the entrance of Meribel Les Allues, the nicest of the Meribel villages which retains a traditional savoyard ambience. The nearest lift to Meribel Centre (Chaudane) is 800m and we operate a private chauffeur service in the mornings and back to the chalet at the end of the afternoon however we prefer to take you direct to the slopes at ‘Meribel Villages’, another of the Meribel villages, only 5 minutes from the chalet. Meribel Villages is quieter than Meribel Centre and therefore you will be on your skis and skiing much quicker. We can collect you from either Meribel Village or the centre at the end of the day. The chauffeur service is also available in the evenings should you wish to go to Meribel centre for some après-ski however there are a couple of bars in Les Allues, a short walk from the chalet. There is also a free resort bus linking all the villages so you can return to the chalet at any time should you need to.
How can we qualify for free airport transfers? Can we be collected at any time?
To ensure our complimentary transfers are available, please book your arrival day flights to arrive in the afternoon (between 2pm and 5pm) and your departure day flights to depart early afternoon (between 1pm and 3pm) to/from either Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon or Geneva in that order of preference/distance from chalet. Minibuses on the day of arrival arrive at the airports no earlier than 1pm so if you book an early arrival you will have to wait. Minibuses on the day of departure will depart no later than 9.00am so if you book flight departing later than 2pm, you will have to wait at the airport. Complimentary transfers are based upon 8 sharing a minibus unless otherwise agreed, minibuses will be allocated to your group accordingly however when there are less than 8 in one minibus we may ask you to share with other guests going to the same resort and we will ensure any wait times will be kept to a minimum. Transfers from/to Bourg St Maurice/Aime (arrive 06.27 or 18.20, depart 10.00 or 22.15) for the train station are complimentary on arrival/departure days only (charges apply on other days). Early arrivals by train or self-drive only for an extra day´s skiing can be accommodated, please ask for further details (conditions apply). There is no extra discount for self-drive. Baby car seats and booster seats will be arranged for children and infants. Complimentary transfers are not available under any other conditions and it is your responsibility that all your group members are aware of these conditions.
We want to travel overnight. Can we arrive at any time?
Please be aware that the chalet will be available for your use from 4pm on arrival day. By prior arrangement, we are happy to provide you with a room after 9am in which to store your luggage, refresh and get changed for an extra day’s skiing should you be arriving early (depending on availability). We would like to advise you that occasionally on changeover days there could be some overlap of incoming and outgoing guests. Should you choose this option it is important to note that you are expected to ski all day (hence the reason for travelling overnight) and your chalet will not be accessible until 4pm to allow for thorough cleaning. We strongly do not advise this option if you are travelling with young children especially if taking the overnight train as they will not sleep well and will not last the day.
How do your shuttle buses work? Can I be collected at any time?
Our private shuttle service must be arranged directly with your Chalet Hosts and is not available on Saturdays or Sundays when the minibuses are out of resort. We offer a service to take you and your children to the slopes and ski school meeting point in the mornings from 08.45 to approx. 09.45 and will ensure everyone gets to their respective meeting points on time. Please note that the first morning is always a bit hectic and we ask you to be as organised as possible so we can ensure things run smoothly. You can arrange collection towards the end of the day from 16.00 to 17.00 with your Chalet Hosts. The time in between is your Chalet Hosts free time and whilst we aim to be flexible in this service, please bear this in mind. NB: We will always be available in case of emergencies to collect you at any time. The resort bus runs every 15 minutes and stops close to all our chalets.

Your skis and boots will be delivered to your chalet shortly before or after your arrival. Our British qualified ski technician will fit your boots and provide you with a beautiful pair of skis all in the comfort of your own chalet, so you can relax and have another cup of tea instead of rushing out of the door and standing in a queue for your equipment. Our aim is to provide the best service in town. We have a wide choice of skis and boots and our ski technician will be on hand to advise you in terms according to your skiing ability. It is essential to hire helmets for children. We have a small selection of snowboards and helmets for adults however you may be required to rent some items from a local shop.
We´re staying at Christmas/New Year, what extras do you provide to make our stay special?
We make a special fuss of you and your friends and family during these weeks, starting with pretty decorations to make the chalet sparkle at Christmas time. Dinner is traditional Christmas fayre with Roast Turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas Pud for dessert, crackers and of course a glass of champagne or two. Breakfasts feature Bucks Fizz and Scrambled eggs with Smoked Salmon or Eggs Benedict. New Years Eve in a ski resort is a magical time and brilliant fun. We have a small fireworks display to see in the New Year with a (small) bang.
We´ve stayed before. Why aren´t you (Mike and Laura) hosting the chalet anymore?
We set out to create a very special ski holiday experience and we know we played a big part in creating this experience for you. We choose a super resort and a fantastic chalet. However, growth is neccessary for any small company to survive and as we have grown and taken on more chalets, we have found it increasingly difficult to host a chalet whilst running the business and ensuring guests in other chalets have an equally special holiday. Thus we no longer run a chalet so we can concentrate on all our guests whilst managing three chalets in La Rosiere, one in Sainte Foy, one in Les Arcs, one in Meribel and four in La Plagne and our own ski hire and private nanny services.
We remain very hands on, we often meet guests at the airport, go skiing with you and (if invited of course) join you for drinks or dinner a couple of times during the week. We really want to stay in close contact with you whilst you are here so expect to see a lot of us (but thankfully you´ll be subjected to fewer of Mike´s after dinner jokes)! We have found we can ensure standards remain high in all the chalets, ski a little bit more (!) and devote more time to the business. We ensure we hire chalet host couples who are mature (over the age of 25) and thus reliable, hard working and probably of the same ilk as us (lovers of skiing)! You can be rest assured of high standards as we cherry pick our team from our hugely successful Ultimate Chalet Host Cookery Course.

I am vegetarian/vegan/wheat free/dairy free/allergic to coriander/peppers/eggs. Can you cater for me?
We are happy to cater for all kinds of diets; vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free etc. just let us know your requirements in advance on the Booking Form. If you have any food allergies, intolerances or dislikes, let us know as soon as possible so we can plan a lovely menu for you to avoid disappointment. Our Savoie wines from Domaine St Germain are vegan. It can be very difficult for our Chalet Hosts to adapt their menu on the spot if we have not had any prior warning of any allergies, intolrances or dislikes. NB: See below regarding severe nut allergies.
I have a severe nut allergy, can you guarantee a nut free chalet?
We are committed to ensuring the safety of guests who have allergies. We provide a nut free menu but we cannot guarantee that the products stored in our kitchens will not contain traces of nuts (at factory source level) and it is your responsibility whilst in our chalets to ensure the person affected does not consume products which may contain nuts or traces of nuts. Our Chalet Hosts will identify the products that contain nuts or traces of nuts to you. Some items such as cereals will not be removed so as not to compromise the experience of other guests.
